Happy 10th Birthday to us! Colmore Tailors is 10 this year.
Where has the time gone? It’s seriously flown by and I’m immensely grateful to each and every one of you for helping to make this happen. We are nothing without all the people that make Colmore Tailors what it is and we (and I) will be forever indebted to you all.
It’s crazy thinking back at the whole ride, starting from a back bedroom at home in Lichfield to sitting in the suite in Birmingham today.
First Office
It’s worth noting a few people that helped hugely that you may not be aware of.
Dean and Paul at Servevast who employed me many moons ago and were kind enough to take deliveries on our behalf for the first few years. Alan Boardman at R&N, my tailoring mentor who helped with advice and even gave us our first premises in the city. Smiler and Rabi & R&N for help, advice, banter…..and great alterations, always on hand to help us out. Jorden for the ongoing advice and often weekly phone calls. Dave and Gary at Portugal Homes for the busiest day in our history…..phew (thanks to James for helping out that day too). Rachael, ah the missus…..who put up with a fair bit and supported me on the journey. And still does TBH. Rich, Kena and Andrea, are our past employees who have had a hand in building this up. And Ruben. my glamorous blonde-haired assistant.
And all the merchants who have supported us over the years. Rob and Carole at Dugdales, Joe and Howard at Standeven, Geoff and Laura at HFW, Phil at VMM, and Lorenzo at Drago. Thank you all
And thanks to all our clients who have supported us on this journey and who believe (hopefully) in what we are trying to do.
A big thanks to Gary Smith as well. He was my first-ever client and is still a client and friend today. Thanks Gary.
And on a personal level. In those 10 years, we have moved house, and had 3 kids and 2 cats. A lot has changed. All good I might add.

Most of you who know me know that I’m not great at blowing my/our own trumpet. Often this kind of post can feel a little hard to write and that somehow its a little egotistical. I know that can also sound a bit silly as there is nothing wrong with celebrating 10 years in business so maybe I should go a little easier on myself. However, my nature is to look ahead and look at all the things we need to do, as opposed to all the things we have done. I suppose its of trained into me as I often refer to the fitting part of this job as “find a fault and fix it”. It would be much nicer to find the positives and focus on them, I’ll try to do more of that.
Moving forward I want to do something celebratory this year and to commemorate this milestone properly. Watch this space.
But in the meantime, please do help us celebrate this milestone. Feel free to drop by anytime, its people like you that make us what we are. And we are so very happy for your support.
