Tailoring Assistant
WHO ARE YOU?
You will have a deep interest in men’s tailoring, an eye for detail, and a drive to continually improve.
You will be comfortable with people and enjoy making people happy. You will be a problem solver, adept at trying out new tasks, and not afraid to roll your sleeves up.
You will (preferably) have experience measuring and fitting clients in a bespoke/mtm role.
You will be proficient with office software and computer work such as excel/word etc.
You will have a full drivers license.
You will be happy to work Saturdays (I love them!)
CHARACTER
Self starter.
Confident and aware of surroundings (needs to put clients at ease and needs to be able to pick the phone up and get stuff done)
Flexible and comfortable doing new tasks
Passion for clothing and classic menswear (a must)
An inquisitive mind, asking lots of questions
Desire to learn and improve.
TASKS
Managing alterations
Taking orders, styling outfits and measuring clients.
Conducting fittings.
General day-to day running of the business
Managing of CRM and client relationships
Any other tasks required, you have to be flexible
YOU WILL LEARN
How to style garments and the critical elements of each outfit including proportion and balance
Colour co-ordination
Matching complexions and styling different builds
How to fit body shapes and mark garments for alterations
How to select cloth and how fabrics work
THE ROLE
Part-time or full-time depending on experience. Part-time may suit someone studying a style course and looking to learn. Full-time would suit someone with MTM/Style experience who can hit the ground running
Part-time hours are 2-3 days per week, always Fridays and Saturdays, and one other weekday. Full-time is Tuesday to Saturday inclusive.
