Those that know cloth will know that Dugdale Bros are lauded by tailors all over the world. They are known for producing durable English cloth that makes up like an absolute dream. Family owned since 1896 and the last remaining cloth merchant in Huddersfield. The home of English cloth.
The first collection is the Merchant Fleece. A collection of mid weight 10oz fabrics in classic styles. The fabric has a butter like handle not often found in this weight. Finished using a traditional “cold press” storage technique not seen for years.
“The Merchant Fleece is a significant showcase of caring for a luxury fibre through all stages of working to enhance its extensive and luxurious natural qualities, and has taken 18 months to execute. With gentle scouring and natural air drying and a move to slightly increased horizontal spinning, and a slower pick rate for weaving in older dormier looms. The finish evokes a bygone era when cloth making was regarding as a craft rather than merely the making of a commodity”

The second collection is “Limited Edition”. A select choice of mid weight, super 120’s fabrics in 10oz, only available through the worlds finest and most discerning tailors. Its a honour for Dugdale’s to select us to stock this fabric and offer it to you. A generous choice of fabrics with a robust handle and in the perfect weight for all year round suits and wedding garments.
Available in an array of styles and patterns, from textured plains and sharkskin, to herringbone weaves and Prince of Wales checks.
